2) Sasha Peterson prints out that one theme in Whitman's poetry is "the
endurance of love." How is this theme evident in "On the Beach at
Night"?
A)
The speaker's whisper reminds the girl that all things,
including love, must end.
B)
The daughter assures her father that God is "more
immortal even than the stars."
C)
The speaker's kiss is "the first suggestion that love
outlives the heavenly bodies.
D)
The speaker reminds the daughter that she should
mourn for all things that die, not just herself.
Answer: C) The speaker's kiss is "the first suggestion that love
outlives the heavenly bodies.
Explanation:
Option A is incorrect because, if the speaker's whisper was meant to remind the girl that even love must end, the poem wouldn´t be a good example of "the endurance of love." Option B is incorrect because at no point does the daughter claim that God is "more
immortal even than the stars." Option D is incorrect because the speaker never implies that the daughter should mourn for all things that die, and not just herself.
In "On the Beach at Night," Whitman describes a father and his daughter watching the stars in the evening sky. When the sight moves the daughter to tears, the father kindly comforts her and states that there´s something that will last longer than Jupiter, the sun, or any star. Despite not offering an answer, we can infer that the author is referring to the love father and daughter share, and that´s why the poem shares the theme of "the endurance of love."

As the outgoing sports prefect, write a report for publication in your school magazing on sporting activities during your term of office
Answer:
ANNUAL SPORTS REPORT 2021 SUBMITTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS SCIENCES AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION - PENIEL COLLEGE
All over the world, sports has and still serves as a unifying factor, a tool for character building, and a means of self-discovery.
It is with the above in mind that I assumed the role of the Sports Prefect. I knew that if I was to succeed, it was important for me to leave the school's Physical Education program in a better shape than I met it.
To do so, I had to re-envision what that unit is all about. It meant that I had to stand upon the shoulders of all my predecessors from 40 years ago and ask myself, WHY we are here.
As I did with the help of the Sports Coordinator, Mr. Bright Li, I developed the courage to request the help of all the students who served with me in the Physical Education Unit. Without them, none of the things we achieved would have been made possible.
During my tenure, we not only ensured that all the different sports which we have improved and received funding, but we also added new sub-units such as
Skateboarding Sport Climbing Karate and Billards
For the first time in 12 years, we won the Regional chess championship and made it to the Nationals, coming back with the Bronze medal in third place.
Our football team had the rare opportunity to tour with the National football team. This exposure left a strong impact on the members of the team. Some of them now see their dream of joining an actual football team as being more real than ever. Some of the footballers elected to mentor anyone who was serious about taking football farther than college. Of course, there were certain terms and conditions attached.
Because of how we saw the school's Sports Program, and how we went about it, some of the students, have transferred the same dedication, discipline, and teamwork that they have learned on the field to their studies. Keeping track, we saw that the grades of all sports active students improved by 39% after we introduced the Play to Win philosophy. We made it clear through all our coaches and team leads that all the principles learned on the field were transferrable to academic work and that sports was not just an escape for those who felt they didn't have the brains or intelligence to excel academically.
As students progressed athletically, and in various other sports, their self-image increased. So did their academic performance.
I'd like to thank the all staff and students who helped to push the vision of the Sports and Physical Sciences unit further. Special appreciation goes to the teachers who supervised the following teams:
Cricket Volleyball Table Tennis Chess Athletics Tug of War
They provided excellent coaching and for the first time in 9 years featured in interschool competitions, coming back home with at least a bronze medal. In all, we had 6 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
If we don't give up, IMPOSSIBILITY IS NOTHING.

Answer:
in and out, objectively
Explanation:
There are three catagories overall which make a solid fast food chain:
- Food quality
- Employee satisfaction
- Menu
So lets look through all three catagories:
Food Quality
In and out has been slow to expand towards the central United States, primarily due to difficulties in the supply lines. In and Out has a policy of not freezing, pre packaging, or microwaving their food, whether that be their potatos, or their meat. This has had a positive effect on their food quality, as customers consistantly express satisfaction with the quality of the ingredients. This is more than likely the primary advantage In and Out has over many other fast food restaurants, which cut corners by freezing, pre packaging, microwaving, etc.
Employee Satisfaction
It's difficult for a Fast Food chain to serve quality food if the people serving it aren't happy. In and Out recognizes this as well, and consequentially ensures that their employees are satisfied. At least in my home state of California, where the majority of locations are, In and Out has a starting salary of just over $15, with managers and owners of well performing locations able to make over 100k every year. This has lead to In and Out maintaining one of the highest rates of employee retention in the entire fast food industry. Strong employee retention results in a more experienced workforce, which furthur improves both the quality of the food and the efficency with which the food is made.
Menu
Upon initial inspection, In and Out's comparitively small menu of 9 items (only 4 food items) may seem like a drawback, not a benefit. Even factoring in the "secret" menu, it doesn't quite compare to the sheer size of the menus of giants like McDonalds or Taco Bell. However, it's important to remember that the size of the menu doesn't matter after the order is placed; no matter how many items are on the menu, you'll only get the ones you ordered. More often than not, the vast majority of people have the exact same order almost every time they enter a fast food establishment. If this is the case, then why bother complicating the menu with items nobody even orders? For example. the Big Mac is the second most popular order at McDonalds, with 70 million orders in 2018, only falling behind french fries. However, comparing the frequency of Big Mac orders to other burger orders, we begin to see order numbers drop at a logarithmic rate. This means that the 6-7 most ordered items make up to 70% of the profit. In and Out takes this idea to its logical extreme, by cutting its menu as short as it can, and perfecting the food it makes.

Read these excerpts from two passages.
Overfishing
"The world faces a calamitous food crisis if we do not stop overfishing. According to the United Nations, about one billion people, mostly in developing countries, rely on fish as their primary source of animal protein. What will they do when the fish run out? That crisis could occur soon. While there will probably never be a time when we do not have fish, there could come a time when we no longer have enough fish. The cause of this fish shortage is overfishing. Overfishing occurs 'when more fish are caught than the population can replace through natural reproduction,' according to the World Wildlife Foundation. Once this occurs, the species is no longer 'sustainable.'"
Aquaculture
"Nutritionists say that seafood is healthier to eat than other kinds of animal protein...Current United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines suggest that Americans eat two to three seafood meals a week. Unfortunately, most Americans do not consume that amount of fish. However, even if Americans were willing to eat more fish, would the world’s seas be able to provide it? In order to meet even current global consumption rates, experts at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimate that the world will need another 40 million tons of seafood per year by 2030. Where will all this fish come from? Many people think that the answer is aquaculture."
What is a common theme in these excerpts?
A)The problem of meeting the world's supply of fish, which are experiencing declining populations.
B)Controversy over how many servings of fish should be recommended in USDA food guidelines.
C)The issue of how to feed the world's increasing human population.
D)How to change demand for fish in developing countries that use it as their main source of animal protein.
Answer:
A.
Explanation:
The two excerpts talk mainly about the shortage of fish for the consumption of human population.
In the excerpt Overfishing, the author is talking about the causes of shortage of fish caused due to overfishing. The next excerpt Acquaculture talks that this lack can be subdued with farming of seafood, fishes in specific.
So, the common theme in both the excerpts is meeting the world's supply of fish, whose population is declining due to overfishing.
Therefore, option A is correct.

A Tempest
An awful tempest mashed the air,
The clouds were gaunt and few;
A black, as of a spectre’s1
cloak,
Hid heaven and earth from view.
The creatures chuckled on the roofs
And whistled in the air,
And shook their fists and gnashed their teeth.
And swung their frenzied hair.
The morning lit, the birds arose;
The monster’s faded eyes
Turned slowly to his native coast,
And peace was Paradise!
